Earthwise Cabinetry is a division of
WNT Design, Inc. We have produced distinctive cabinetry and millwork for the residential, commercial and hospitality markets for 30 years.
Our work has often been the focal point of ambitious projects, and we enjoy a well earned reputation for being on time and on budget.
We employ a broadly capable group of craftspeople and design professionals, who believe that sustainability should be more than just a buzzword. We have developed a set of standards for quality and service that are unusual in these times.
Our commitment to a healthy world informs our workplace regimen as well. We work four ten hour days which reduces the amount of commuting required of our staff. We recycle any waste we can. We use materials and methods that produce high quality casework, while preserving precious resources and protecting the health of our customers and employees.
We are in the process of getting FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) Certification for our cabinetry and millwork products. You can be assured that when you purchase Earthwise cabinets, you are helping to preserve the environment and making a healthier choice for your home and family.
Every new Earthwise project starts with a meeting of minds. We like to sit down with a new client and develop a strategy for capturing their vision. We have helped clients with a wide variety of tastes and budgets realize their goals. We can design fixtures ourselves – with input from the client – or work closely with an Architect or Interior Designer. We take pride in our ability to find cost effective solutions for unique designs.
Planning: Every Earthwise project begins with a complete set of detailed drawings that are submitted to all interested parties for approval. We don’t cut material for a project until we are certain that everyone is on the same page.
Cabinet cases: Earthwise cabinet bodies are constructed of ¾” pre-finished Columbia PureBond Maple (or Cherry) plywood. This material has no added urea formaldehyde and is FSC certified. A matching ¼” panel material is used for cabinet backs. The cases are assembled with Woodwork Institute approved joinery and fasteners.
Doors and drawer fronts: Earthwise offers a wide variety of door styles constructed from an almost infinite range of materials. Almost all are available as FSC certified.
Drawer boxes and roll out trays: Earthwise cases come with your choice of dovetailed FSC solid maple or FSC solid bamboo. Both have no added urea formaldehyde.
Drawer hardware: Earthwise cabinets are fitted with your choice of Accuride side mounted, ball bearing guides (100 lb. rating) or Blum tandem undermount (concealed) guides (100 lb. rating) with Blumotion soft close action. Large drawers (file drawers etc.) are equipped with Heavy Duty versions of either system.
Hinges: Earthwise cabinets with Euro (concealed) hardware use Blum hinges with a 110° opening radius. If the project calls for a more traditional look, we use old fashioned, hand mortised butt hinges selected to match the knobs or pulls you have chosen.
Cabinet accessories: We are familiar with a wide variety of cabinet accessories, whether it’s basic pantry hardware or state of the art conveniences and have installed everything from wine glass racks to exotic Audio and Video equipment hardware.
As evidence of our commitment to responsible use of precious resources, we install a dual container recycling pullout in every Earthwise kitchen, free of charge.
Finishing: Earthwise offers a wide variety of finishes using proven low or no VOC products.
Installation: We want to make sure that all Earthwise cabinets are installed properly. We have licensed Master Installers on staff for work in the Bay Area, or we will work with your Contractor or Professional installer to carry the project to completion.
